Zoo de Servion (VD) | En

Updated: Sep 9, 2018

We have been here a number of times now and its always a good family outing.

There is plenty of free car parking available and entry is reasonable at CHF12 for an adult and CHF7 for children between 6 and 15 years old. It’s free for children up to the age of 6.

I think we must have been in all seasons and found it a good year-round outing as it’s well shaded in the summer and there is still plenty to see in the winter (we like to go around Christmas to show Jude the reindeer getting ready).

The zoo itself is well laid out and you will see a good range of animals from birds and Shetland ponies to monkeys, lions and bears. Our highlights are the wild boar snuffling about (and snoozing) in the mud, the enormous bison and seeing the baby goats leaping about in the spring. You can check the animal feeding times on the zoo website so that you can plan your visit to coincide with meal times if you choose.

It’s a nice walk and easily accessible for all (we went when Alba was a baby and the double pushchair passed everywhere). There is a restaurant serving snacks as well as proper meals and gift shop attached to the ticket office which also houses some toilets downstairs with baby changing facilities. There is another set of toilets by the play area in the zoo itself which also has a changing area for children so it’s well set up for visiting families.

"It's a fun experience for everyone."

There are also places where you can picnic and decent play areas for children – one for smaller children with a little slide and baby friendly swings and another for bigger children with more adventurous attractions.

Jude is always happy when we tell him we are heading here and Alba has started to enjoy toddling around and waving and chatting to the animals too so its a fun experience for everyone.
