We discovered a wonderful forest walk suitable for pushchair and wheelchair users.

We were looking for an easy walk on Sunday morning and Jean remembered seeing this Sentier Handicap Nature walk above Lausanne.

There is space to park nearby and the start of the walk immediately leads you into the beautiful surroundings of the forest.

It’s such a great idea with wide raised pathways covered in a wire mesh to help the wheels grip and it was just perfect for us with Elio's heavy pushchair. The path is a mix of flat “normal" roads and these raised paths and takes you through the forest with lots to spot on the way including wooden figures, lots of panels to read to learn more about the kinds of flora and fauna we might discover, and a beautiful viewing platform.

Dotted long the path there are plenty of benches, picnic spots and places to rest so you could easily break the walk with a pause for a snack or a drink.

I love this time of year when the sun is less powerful and the forest feels cool and peaty in the mornings. It did us lots of good to get outside and enjoy the fresh forest air. We thoroughly recommend this easy family walk which is about 5km long.
