We spent a wonderful night at the hotel Eringer in Hérémence in Valais.
This new hotel is located less than 20 minutes from Sion in the heart of the exceptional 4 Vallées mountain resort and offers amazing panoramic views over the Val d'Hérens and the Vallée du Rhône.
The Eringer hotel is extremely stylish with a great location right next to the ski slopes, making it the perfect place for a winter break or exploring the beautiful countryside in the warmer months.
Our bedrooms were lovely, spacious and built with sustainability in mind. We had 2 connecting rooms with a closed corridor : a Duplex Master Suite and a Premium Room. We just loved the design and comfort of the rooms which amounted to a very large space for all of us. The duplex rooms are especially cosy and the children loved them.

After dropping out bags, we decided to check out the bar which is gorgeous. There is a large children's play room cleverly located next to the bar with a teepee, large TVs, little kitchen and lots of toys. Until recently, for children aged 6 and over, every Wednesday at 4 pm, the Eringer Hotel's playroom hosted a snack followed by a film.
The Eringer bar is really something and we thought it was probably one of the best bars we have seen in Switzerland with a large open fire, cosy sofas and stylish design. The staff are really friendly, the menu is great and the view is just WOW. The Eringer Deck outside offers a huge terrace stretching across more than 500m² and definitely the best place for a festive après-ski.
For the evening, we tried the Eringer restaurant which proposes the classics of Italian and Valais cuisine. We arrived at 7pm as Elio was with us and we had a really nice time with great service in a cosy, relaxed atmosphere. We were advised to try local wines which we loved and Alba was mesmerised by the open kitchen and enjoyed watching her pizza being prepared. There is also another restaurant called the Stübli which is dedicated to those who loves cheese and other Swiss specialties.
The hotel will be adding an amazing spa to their list of facilities later which will really be the cherry on the cake for this wonderful place.
There are plenty of things to see in the area including a little tour of the surrounding villages, the famous Pyramids d'Euseigne and the dam La Grande Dixence.
After a delicious breakfast on Sunday morning, we headed for the fromagerie in Hérémence where we met Manu who gave us an explanation of the cheesemaking process and a guided tour of the facilities including the cave which is an impressive place filled with delicious cheeses! We were really impressed by the quantity of cheese Manu and his wife are able to create and the dedication involved in its production. We loved the tasting session at the end. It was all so delicious and we couldn't leave without buying a couple of packs of fondue which we can't wait to try.
The Eringer combines excellent service and facilities with a relaxed Valaisan style. We loved it and definitely a great place for families.
