DinoWorld (VD) l En

As part of our continued celebrations of Jude’s 5th birthday, we had my mum visiting from England and decided to take him to DinoWorld in Villeneuve on Sunday morning.

Labyrinthe Aventure Valais Family Switzerland

First impressions when you pull up in the car park were “are we really in the right place?”. It has the feeling of a circus that’s been closed down and it was hard to imagine what lay beyond the entrance.

We pressed ahead and paid chf 16.-/adult for our entry tickets and started the tour. It was actually much better than the exterior suggested and we followed the path past a good number of large dinosaur models, some making noises and moving which Jude and Alba found both exciting and unnerving in equal measure.

We also saw ostriches and large turtles along our way round the park and at the end the children enjoyed the games area, especially the bouncy castle and sandpit where they could dig for fossils and use brushes to dust off their discoveries.

It was a nice sunny day so we were able to enjoy the walk through the forest area in all it’s autumnal glory but it would be much less charming in the rain. We had Elio in the pushchair and were easily able to reach everywhere apart from one section of the route where you could choose the difficult or easy way round - the difficult route involved some non-pushchair friendly obstacles but it was no problem as we simply went the other way.

There is an indoor area with small covered golf area, a place to buy drinks, a small cinema area and gift shop.

A bit of a negative was that the toilets were portaloos outside. I didn’t have to courage to try them but Jean did and said they were pretty unpleasant so don’t expect changing facilities etc.

We knew dinosaur-mad Jude would love it and Alba really enjoyed it too. As for us? Well, we were certainly pleasantly surprised.
