We discovered a fantastic hotel for families in the heart of Grisons.
We arrived at the JUFA hotel in Savognin on a Saturday afternoon and felt the stresses of the week melting away as we discovered the wonderful views and soothing country sounds.
This however was just the beginning and we were about to be further impressed when we entered the hotel.
We received a warm welcome and were soon exploring our accommodation. The rooms are designed using wood and natural materials which gives them a really cosy feel. We had two connecting rooms, both of which were generously sized so we had more than enough space for the five of us. You can see our bedroom here.
It was a wonderful sunny day so we decided to explore the hotel and have a drink in the sunshine. The children quickly discovered the playroom which is really well located in the middle of the building (we find these are often tucked away so that a parent has to hover nearby) which meant that we could sit on the terrace knowing that they were only a few steps away.
Let’s talk about that playroom. It’s definitely one of the best we have seen with my plenty of space for climbing ropes, toys and games and even a climbing wall. There is also space to play outside so the children were really spoilt for choice. Because it was so centrally located, we were happy to leave the children to enjoy the playroom as we sat nearby.
We were staying on full board basis so we are all of our meals at the hotel. The first night we had a buffet and the for the other meals we could choose from a set menu. The food was good and the restaurant is well designed making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal with the children.
There is plenty to do in the area with a cable lift a few minutes walk from the hotel. For those who fancy biking or hiking, there are 1000km of trails through Parc Ela which is the largest natural park in Switzerland. There is also a lovely lake not far away with plenty to keep you busy.
During the holidays the hotel offers a kids club which is great for enabling parents to enjoy the spa with saunas and relaxations, or take some time to work out in the gym.
It’s with great enthusiasm that we can recommend this hotel to you for a great family break in the heart of the Swiss countryside.
