We spent a wonderful weekend in Haute Nendaz at the incredible Grimpeur 13 duplex apartment run by Altiservices!
We set off on Friday afternoon and were able to park the car directly outside the apartment building which was really practical with the children and the luggage.
The apartment is an enormous duplex with the entrance at ground floor level and it’s truly an incredible place.
In the foyer there is plenty of space for outdoor wear and a utility room but the children rushed past all that to discover the bedrooms. Surely the most impressive is the master suite with its huge windows, en suite bathroom (with an amazing shower) beautiful decor and a large comfortable bed!
The doors in the bedroom open out onto one of the many balconies and lead you to the HOT TUB! We were all excited about using this almost as soon as we had dropped the suitcases!
The ground floor level also houses a main bathroom, double bedroom with practical workspace with printer and screen, and a bedroom for the children with two sets of cosy bunk beds. Jude and Alba wasted no time in picking their beds and tore off to explore the rest of the apartment. The apartment is well equipped for children and Altiservices had kindly organised a baby bed for Elio too.
Upstairs we found ourselves in an enormous open plan living space with gorgeous views of the mountains in front and lots and lots of light. From here you can also enjoy the views from the balcony which is set up with table and chairs making it the perfect spot for a little apéro.
The kitchen is huge and well equipped with everything you might need to prepare a meal and plenty of child friendly items such a plates, cutlery and drinking cups which was really useful.
The cosy living area boasts a large sofa, a bean bag which Elio soon made his own, and some cool rocking chairs in front of the even cooler log burner suspended from the ceiling, and a dining table which is perfect for family meals. We also really loved the breakfast bar for snacks and it was a great place to sit and chat with a glass of wine while one of us was preparing food.
There is another ensuite double room on this floor so the apartment can easily sleep 6 adults and four children.
The location is excellent both for exploring Nendaz, and also for those wishing to ski with the ski lift directly across the road from the apartment. It's really a 20 second walk away!
Everything about this place just felt nice from the Molten Brown toiletries, to the gorgeous decor and the little touches (such as the complimentary bottle of wine and the chocolates in the bedrooms) which made us feel really pampered and well looked after. They are really generous with towels which is great between the showers, bath and jacuzzi - things like that really make a difference when you are travelling with children. You also have a washing machine and a dryer which are always welcome during longer stay.
The children were in heaven when they discovered lots of games and puzzles (Jude rather ambitiously began a 1000 piece puzzle 24hours before our departure) which were far more interesting that the things they had brought with them from home. They were pretty angry with us when we said we had to leave and we couldn’t blame them!
You can also enjoy the Spa des Bisses with the rental of the duplex which gives you 4 unlimited passes. The spa is really beautiful with a fantastic area dedicated to children. You just have to take the funicular and a lift and in less than 3 minutes you are in the pool :-).
Finally the biggest hit is the view. You can't beat the feeling of waking up in a place like this and being able to enjoy the mountains and the changing light over the scenery from early morning to night time.
We can definitely recommend this wonderful place, you will not forget your stay here as there is absolutely everything you need to be happy!
